Plaintiff invested $35k in the business, initially she thought she was going to have a partner, it was harder than she thought. Sold it 6 months later, decided to go back to school. Defendant could not make it, sent her husband with Power of Attorney. Plaintiff sold the business to defendant for $38k, so far they have paid back $20,439.00. Defendant claims he paid the rest in cash, did not bring evidence of payment, but, showed text messages where plaintiff fiance asked for the rest in cash. Per plaintiff he asked for cash because his checks bounced. Judge Judy ruled in favor of plaintiff for $3,000.00.
